A brilliant Grüner Veltliner, expressing very ripe fruit. Dense and elegant, rich in extract, on the palate very juicy with a long finish. Nice minerality, too. Perfect partner for roast pork, grilled chicken, salads with herbs, and mushroom dishes.
The delicious Grüner Veltliners from the increasingly prestigious Kamptal region of northern Austria demonstrate just how versatile this grape can be. Allram has been one the leading wineries in the Kamptal for decades, boasting prized holdings of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner in the legendary crus of Heiligenstein, Gaisberg and Renner. The wines are now made by Lorenz Haas-Allram, the third generation of the family making wine here.
The hand-picked fruit for the Hasel comes from the family’s Mittelhasel vineyard, which has a gentle incline towards the south, and is known for producing high quality grapes. The löss soils retain deep reservoirs of moisture and rarely suffer from dehydration, helping create highly characteristic Grüner Veltliner.
