The Carte d’Or expresses all the aromas of the noble grape variety Pinot Noir Champagne. A very easy drinking Champagne that is sought after not only for its structure but also for its very characteristic fine notes of red fruits.

The Champagne House dates back to 1808 when they settled in this part of Champagne. In the early 1930s, the vineyard suddenly became a topic of heated discussion in Urville. Georges Collot, Michel Drappier’s maternal grandfather, decided he would be the first to replant the Pinot Noir grape in the canton. His decision made waves, and earnt him the nickname le ‘Père Pinot’ or ‘Old Man Pinot’. This grape variety now represents 70% of the Drappier vineyard, and of the percentage cultivated in the Aube region, proving sceptics wrong.

The Carte d’Or expresses all the aromas of the noble grape variety Pinot Noir. This in fact constitutes at least 80% of the blend. A red grape producing white juice, it is sought after not only for its structure but also for its very characteristic fine notes of red fruits.

A wonderful Champagne, with it being a firm favourite of my family.

WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY

‘An enticing blend of red cherry, nectarine and Asian pear fruit, feeling round in body but pleasantly focused by its acidity’
