Morandé was founded in 1996 by Pablo Morandé, and found immediate recognition both domestically and abroad. Morandé are true pioneers – they were the first family to develop the Casablanca D.O., recognising the fantastic potential of this cool climate wine region. All of the wines are produced with grapes from Morandés own vineyards. Their winemaking philosophy is guided by seeking the right terroir for each grape variety, and with significant vineyard holdings they are well placed to achieve this.
This Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Belén vineyard in the Casablanca Valley, where the clay soils and maritime influence allow the grapes to develop a rich aromatic expression and freshness. Bright yellow in colour, its aromas of citrus fruits such as grapefruit and lime stand out, as well as light notes of fresh herbs such as verbena and lemon. The palate is very fresh and citrusy, juicy, intensely fruity and mineral, with good volume and a long finish.
