The Platinum Case

Bollinger, Rosé, Aÿ, Champagne NV

From arguably the most iconic Champagne house of them all, Bollinger Rosé is a wonderful wine. On the nose, hints of red currant, cherry and wild strawberry along with a spicy touch. The palate has good structure, length, depth and vivacity, with a tannic finish due to the addition of red wine. A velvety mousse and lingering flavours of wild berries. Pairs well with many foods, especially Japanese cuisine and fruit-based desserts – or can even be served with afternoon tea. A superb counterpoint to the Special Cuvée.

Domaine Arnaud & Stéphanie Dezat, Sancerre, France 2021

Wonderfully expressive Sancerre with crisp citrus and delicate floral aromas complemented by riper, exotic fruit notes. A finely chiselled palate with lovely acidity, perfect as an aperitif or with seafood. One of the best Sancerres I have ever tasted.

Antinori, Guado al Taso, Vermentino di Bolgheri DOC, Maremma, Tuscany, Italy 2022

This wine is straw yellow in colour with greenish hues. Intense on the nose with notes of citrus fruit, white flower blossoms and tropical fruit. The palate is savoury with good persistence of flavours and finishes fresh with hints of citrus fruit. Superb Vermentino from this renowned family producer.

Domaine Chanson, Givry Rouge, Burgundy, France 2018

Good value Burgundy from a famous village in the south of the region. Bright ruby colour with purple nuances. Fragrances of roses mixed with refreshing aromas fof ripe raspberries with spicy notes. Well-balanced and complex. Very pure fruit. Long and generous finish.

Dog Point, Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand 2021

A bright perfumed, supple expression of Marlborough pinot noir from clay hill slopes. The fruit is supported by bright florals of rose and violets with crunchy red berry fruit and dried herb notes. The palate is succulent with alluring red cherry, brown spices and silky fine boned tannins.
